Leading the professional group of schoolmasters to head for the professionalization has become an important topic for educational administrations in all levels and institutions for educational researches. Although the argument about whether being a schoolmaster should be professionalized or specialized is still under discussion, the fact that the profession has come into being in the practice of education running can never be doubted. According to the scholars like Professor Chu Hongqi from Beijing Normal University, that being a schoolmaster is a profession is not of actuality in our country. However, the possibility of the professionalization of being a schoolmaster can not be denied. Specifically speaking, the professionalization of being a school master equals to the professionalization of three professional roles altogether which are the educator, the leader and the administrator. The writer has been taking part in the researches of the cooperation project named "the Professionalization of being the Schoolmasters in the City of Zhongshan and the Reformation of Schoolmaster Personnel System" conducted jointly by Zhongshan Education Bureau and the Department of Pedagogy of Beijing Normal University, therefore the thesis will be conducted about the strategy of the development of the professionalization of being schoolmasters in Zhongshan City.The writer has been familiar with the current situation of the schoolmasters in Zhongshan City by carrying out documentation retrieval, questionnaire surveys and interviews, and after summing up these resources, the author has conducted an analysis of the management of the elementary and secondary schools in Zhongshan City from six dimensions including strategic management, curriculum and teaching management, human resource management, the management of the school culture, financial management and the management of public relations. The findings will be used to assess the current situation of the professionalization of being the schoolmasters in Zhongshan City. The thesis also provides some related suggestions about rationalizing the management relation, improving the promotion system, strengthening the cultivation and training of the schoolmasters, and forming the reward system, and conducts a discussion about the strategies of leading the school -masters in Zhongshan City towards professionalization.
