An incentive for college student cadres is a hot issue in research of college student workin recent years. For the development of universities, the establishment of student cadres withhigh ideological quality, excellent working ability and high motivation is very critical toenrich campus culture, promote construction of classes and Youth League through their work,thus, incenting student cadres is of great importance.This article takes HG college student cadres as the research subjects, and study how toimprove the incentives methods, how to improve student cadres work performance and howto carry out efficient student work. At first, the characteristics of HG college student cadresand the current status quo and challenge of management of student cadres is thoroughlyanalyzed. The analysis find out the key of student cadre management is incentive. Based onthe analysis of current status quo of student cadres’ incentives, the article choose Porter-Lawler model as diagnostic tool, application of questionnaire investigation, diagnose theincentives for HG college student cadres. It is showed by the survey data that there areproblems in effort–performance link, performance–compensation link and compensation–contentment link, which are not entirely smooth, however, the expectation–effort link isrelatively smooth. After that, the article put forward the existing problems in incentives of HGcollege student cadres from the incentives subject, object and incentive mechanism aspects.Then the article proposed a lot of improvement suggestions from “providing bettersurroundings for student cadres”,“linking together the student cadres’ performance andwork remuneration”,“improving the degree of satisfaction aim at potential needs”,“helpthe inspirator to improve the effective of incentive” and “guide the students to correctlyunderstand the responsibilities and status of cadres” based on the problems found in theabove survey report.
