Quality education is the inevitable requirement of the development of Chinese highereducation and the key project of training high-quality talents in the new century. As the cradleof personnel developing, universities and colleges have their concerns on comprehensivelypromoting well-rounded education. These concerns lie in different aspects such as: the way toimprove the comprehensive quality for the students and how to evaluate the overall quality ofcollege students fully, objectively and scientifically.Firstly, based on the complete analysis of the research status, evaluation index system, application methods of the current college students’ comprehensive quality assessment, alsocombining the research results of our college in college students’ comprehensive qualityassessment with others. The comprehensive and objective quality evaluation index system isbuilt by considering the impact of deduction element on the comprehensive evaluation resultsin this paper.Secondly, three evaluation models were built according to the theories of analytichierarchy process, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation and principal components analysis. For theanalytic hierarchy process, following the professional advice, we build weighting coefficientmatrix for each level of criteria and sub-criteria by the usage of1-9scale method. Then, bycalculating the relative weights of a element under a single criterion, also determine itsconsistency. So, the college students’ comprehensive quality assessment model was built. Forfuzzy comprehensive evaluation, firstly, the factors domain and weight domain of theevaluation object were confirmed; secondly, the membership grade of the various factors of theindex system was determined; then, the college students’ comprehensive quality assessmentmodel was gotten. For the principal components analysis, firstly selecting the sample matrix objectively and reasonably, and preprocessing the raw data to get the sample correlationcoefficient matrix. Then, by calculating the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the matrix and thecontribution and cumulative contribution rate of each factor, the college students’comprehensive quality assessment based on principal component analysis was gained. Finally, obtaining the quantitative scores for the membership grade vectors of cultureresults through building functions, and then synthesized it with other indicators to the model.Selecting a thirty-student sample to run a comparison of evaluation feedback. The results havefully validated the science, practicality and effectiveness of three kinds of evaluation methods.Meanwhile, we find that the analytic hierarchy process is simple and easy; the result of fuzzycomprehensive evaluation is objective and accurate. But these two methods are verycomplicated in calculation and they have a low practical application. The mathematical modelestablishing by the principal component analysis is normative in calculation and easy to realize. Therefore it is more suitable for colleges’ comprehensive quality assessment and is easier tooperate.
