The purpose of moral education is to serve for our life. Everyone is creating, pursuing andenjoying life, everyone must comply with the rules of society, this is the moral of life.Moral is themost basic virtues for everyone to get along with others, without certain moral qualities, there arenot good life way and life quality. No one is born with morality; it is influenced by environmentand education. Learning to be a good person is the core of moral education. The life-based moraleducation is the trend of the present moral education,and it is good for the diversity, humane andemotional of moral education. The Singaporeans is famous for the high civilization all over theworld, and this is closely connected with Singapore’s successful citizenship education. AlthoughSingapore still do not explicitly put forward the word" life-based moral education ", the essence ofthe citizenship education in Singapore is the life-based moral education. China and Singapore havemuch common in the geographical environment, cultural foundation, and national psychology. Sothese similarities lay the solid foundation for us to study the moral education in Singapore.Singapore’s economy and national quality are not well developed when it founded in1965.There exist many problems: such as economic stagnation, high unemployment rate, environmentpollution, ethnic disputes and serious livelihood issues. It took40years for Singapore governmentto make a poor country a developed international country. The government not only devote toimproving the livelihood of the people, further open to the outside world and carry out industrialtransformation, also the government pay attention to reshape the country’s dominant values basedon eastern and western cultures, combine law with moral education, and connected theConfucianism to citizen’s social responsibility, to explore a model different from the westerndevelopment road. The successful experience of life-based moral education is worth learning for us.Singapore put the citizen morality into the national development strategy; they put it into practicefrom kindergarten to university, from family to society. Moreover, many moral rules are listed aslaw and immoral behavior will be punished by law.China emphasizes the importance of moral education, we have huge moral education teachers,and we have a series of courses from primary school to University, with the economic development,spiritual civilization make a great improvement at the same time. But many people still behaved badly, some uncivilized behaviors still astonish others. We indeed ignore life-based moraleducation.This thesis take the life-based moral education as the research object: the first chapterintroduces the connotation of life-based moral education, expounds the features of life-based moraleducation, and raises the significance of improving the life-based moral education.The second chapter demonstrates the achievement of life-based moral education in Singapore.In Singapore, all pay more attention to the life-based moral education, and they establish theperfect evaluation system of life-based moral education. In addition, the related law can help carryout the life-based moral education. All above are the reasons that Singapore becomes the gardencountry.Chapter four and chapter five firstly analyze the similarity difference on the goal, content,way and methods of life-based moral education between China and Singapore, then give somesuggestions about life-based moral education in China: first, life-based moral education should beas the national strategy and be built the perfect system. Based on family virtues and student rituals,we should call on all society put life-based moral education into practice; second, we shouldfurther promote and develop the national excellent moral traditions, absorb the quintessence ofwestern culture and improve the national moral quality; third, the forms of life-based moraleducation should be synthetic, networked and practical. So many measures can be taken toimprove the life-based moral education; fourth, the country, by combining the life-based moraleducation with related law, improves the national civilization and realizes the Chinese dream.
