Graduate employment problem is not only a problem of reality caused wide attention but also a theoretical problem more discussed by academic community. Recently, many scholars have discussed the graduate employment problem from the perspective of social capital. The line of sight is locked in all sorts of positive or negative impacts on graduate employment due to graduate individual, social economic backgrounds of a family, and social networks, etc. However, the impacts on graduate employment brought about by university social capital factors are ignored. Therefore, standing in the perspective of university to analyze the social capital factors promoting the graduate employment in China undoubtedly has important theoretical and practical value, which is quite beneficial to the solving of graduate employment problem to a certain extend.By adopting the common methods of educational scientific research such as documentation method, comparative method, some core concepts of the selected topic such as graduate employment, social capital and management, etc. are defined firstly. Meanwhile, the generation, the development and the main contents of social capital theory on which the selected topic relies are elaborated and the main components of university social capital promoting and universities are clarified as well. Secondly, the thesis points out that the inevitability of utilizing the social capital to promote graduate employment, the importance of strengthening university social capital management from three dimensions of graduate employment system, employment process and university social capital itself, and the feasibility of strengthening university social capital management from the main dimensions of university autonomy and organizational boundaries, etc. Again, the thesis reveals the main problems when the university conducts its own management of the social capital from the main aspects of university-enterprise cooperation, alumni relations, university-local exchanges, and the credibility of teaching and researching services. After that, the thesis further conducts the attribution analysis from the following levels of the cognition, the external environment, higher education system, and the internal management system of university as well as the universities organizations and the related specifications. Finally, the thesis points out that how the university should do to improve its management of social capital continuously in order to effectively promote the graduate employment around the three core contents: concept of consciousness, protection mechanisms, and management strategies.
