A Study On The Function Of Vocational Education Of Huaihua Vocational And Technical College

This thesis analyses the function of vocational education in Huaihua Vocationaland Technical College under Merton’s functionalism theory. The function theoryof Merton is a middle-level theory analysis paradigm. It is a kind of theory betweenthe integrated theory and specific theory. He put forward some functionanalysis concept in the criticism of traditional functionalism theory, whichhas a positive function and negative function. Merton also introduced the twoimportant concepts: manifest function and latent function.In this thesis, according to the function of vocational education of HuaihuaVocational and Technical College, we manly study the positive function and inversefunction. Influence of Huaihua Vocational and Technical College of individualand social development is not always positive, sometimes also can be negative. Thatis to say the Huaihua Vocational and Technical College also has a negative function.The Huaihua Vocational and Technical College has not completely adapt to the localsocial and economic development issues in upgrading the level of education,strengthening the construction of professional, innovating mode of running a school.Focusing on these problems, from the third part to the fifth part are the focus of thispaper, analyzed from the three aspects of economic function, cultural function andsocial function of the Huaihua Vocational and Technical College. Huaihua Vocationaland Technical College plays an important role in promoting the regional economicdevelopment, but this does not mean that the Huaihua Vocational and TechnicalCollege development faster is better. The negative function of Huaihua Vocationaland Technical College is a performance of offset status in the educational activitiesand the educational systems. The fifth part is the study of the manifest and the latentfunctions of vocational education of Huaihua Vocational and Technical College. Wedifferentiate the manifest function and the latent function of morphology according tothe objective results. We discuss the manifest and latent function of vocationaleducation of Huaihua Vocational and Technical College according to this theory.
