The group cooperative learning can promote the development ofstudents’ subjectivity, cultivate the ability to solve problems, improve classroomatmosphere. So the group cooperation becomes an important way of learning in the highschool English Teaching.This paper focuses on the high school English cooperative learning, from theaspects of the theoretical basis of the research, the meaning and methods of the groupcooperative learning, combined with literature research. Through the in-depth interview,questionnaire survey and concrete classroom practice and classroom observations, wecan have an in-depth understanding of the current group of senior high school Englishclassroom cooperative development. The results found that, now most of the highschool teachers have adopted the group cooperative learning teaching mode, but muchcooperative inefficiency. From the teacher’s point of view, the cooperation mainly hasthe following problems: the construction of group members is not scientific, uncleardivision of labor; cooperation form, content and timing selection; teachers are lacking ofcooperation of planning and preparation, classroom organization, ineffective regulation;the lack of scientific evaluation system; reflection after class is not enough.Reasons that lead to these problems: teachers’ lack of group cooperative learningand their cooperative shallow understanding, lack of enthusiasm; the lack of deepunderstanding of group activities; teachers still failed to change the role; cooperativegroup formation is not scientific, responsibility is not clear; the teacher lack classroomcontrol; lack of cooperative evaluation mechanism learning; teachers lack team learningsummaries and information feedback etc..Solution strategy: scientific group, a clear division of labor; cooperative learningpreparation, selection of content and timing; in-depth understanding of cooperativelearning, change the roles of teachers; cultivation of students’ cooperative consciousnessand skills; scientific regulation, guidance and evaluation, not one less.
