"Thousand Character Classic" is a Mongolian textbook which is born in Northern and Southern Dynasties. It includes Astronomy, geography, humanities physics, feudal ethics and so on. Due to its unique style and easy-understanding language, it is popular among people in China and it makes a great difference to Mongolian textbooks. It has been spread for a thousand years in China. As a Mongolian textbook, it is of great value and significance.Chinese is faced with great new challenges since the turn of the century. The issues on Chinese education are also increasingly attracted much attention. It plays an important role to know how to make students learn Chinese better, how to let students understand and love this discipline quickly, and what contents are better in teaching."Thousand Character Classic", which is popular nowadays, certainly has its unique meaning and value in education. However, it is ignored by people when compiling the modern textbooks. In order to pass the entrance exams, students just have learnt what they should know and what they need to recite. It brings many problems, for example the basic knowledge is not solid. Sometimes, they can’t understand the origin, the meaning and the usage of a Chinese character. As a four-word rhyming article, not only does "Thousand Character Classic" facilitate the students to recite catchily, but it is easy for students to grasp every character which has its own origin and meaning. In addition, students can comprehend Chinese character deeply. However, it’s a bit difficult for Korean pupils to learn "Thousand Character Classic". The author suggests learning it during middle school so as to understand it better and grasp more about the writing and meaning of each character.The paper makes people know the importance of "Thousand Character Classic" in learning Chinese through the study of the education on Chinese character during the secondary level. In this level, students can find the disadvantages in their learning, and will have a better way for their study. The paper also gives some reasonable proposals about how to teach "Thousand Character Classic". The author hopes to let people know the significance of learning "Thousand Character Classic" for Korean students. What’s more, the author hopes that students can learn and comprehend Chinese character and have a better understanding of the profound Chinese.
