Practice Research Of Group Work Into Parent-child Communication In Urban Migrant Children’s Family

As the process of interaction between parents and children, parent-child communication affects the family’s parent-child relationship and the development of children’s individual physical and mental health, etc. For a series of subjective and objective reasons, while migrant children living with their parents in cities, the situation of parent-child communication is not so optimistic, and there’re so many problems.By investigating and studying the current characteristics of urban migrant children’s family parent-child communication, this article tries to analyses the existing problems, influencing factors and demands of the community parent-child communication. Then it found that parents’ long-time and hard work, terrible living environment and low consciousness of communication and so on, led to migrant children’s family parent-child communication having many problems, and floating parents lacking of communication skills. Based on the early research results, social worker putting the improvement of parents’ communication skills as the breakthrough point, adopting the method of group social work, center on expressing and listening skills, combining with the characteristics of children’s physical and mental development and so on, carry out parent-child communication group activities to improve the communication of the parents’ consciousness and skills. At the same time, group work provides a supportive interactive platform for floating families, so as to promote parent-child interaction and improve parent-child relationship in the limited time. As for the efficiency of group work practice, this study uses the combination of quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate the effect of group activities, explores the effects of group social work method in raising the floating parents’parent-child communication skills and improving parent-child communication.This study found that the group work method in improving urban migrant family parent-child communication present situation, has a certain effect, parents’ communication consciousness has been strengthened, communication skills have been improved, and group work form and content and social worker’s behaviors have got team members’recognition and affirmation. Absolutely, there also exists some disadvantages. Finally, according to the results of the present situation investigation and group practice, and by connecting with the social work’s three main methods, the thesis, from the perspective of different main bodies, put forward methods and suggestions for improving parent-child communication.
