Chemical science is mainly grounded in chemical experiments. The chemicalexperiments in high schools play an important role in the students’ study and furtherresearch on chemical science. The status of chemical experiments in high school educationhas been elevated in the teaching aims of the New Curriculum. In the New Curriculum, thestudents are asked to learn chemistry through experiments so that chemical experimentsbecome a significant method for the students to learn chemistry.This article will focus on the initial study of the current situation of chemicalexperiment teaching in high schools. The study was carried out in accordance with theeducational function of chemical experience in high school and has applied the followingways—document analysis, questionnaires, experimental study and interviews of the typicalones.The study shows that:1.The effects of the experimental chemistry teaching in today’shigh school have a close relationship with the successful conduct of the New Curriculumof High School Chemistry.2. In today’s experimental chemistry teaching, the shadow ofthe traditional exam-oriented education still can been seen. As a result, the cultivation ofstudents’ overall scientific attainments is neglected, together with the care which shouldhave been given to the psychological health of the students.3.Students show a greatinterest in chemical experiments. Besides, they can benefit in the physical and mentaldevelopment as well as in study from chemical experiments. However, in today’sexperimental teaching, many problems remain to be unsolved and need to be taken care of.Students’ huge potential is yet to be discovered.Our research applied the positive experiential teaching in the positive education in theclassroom teaching of high school’s chemical experiments according to the ideas andrequirements of the New Curriculum. Our project selected Senor one students as samplesto carry out research and follow up for study’s sake. Many aspects are analysed in the conduct of the positive experiential strategies. The changes of students’ interest in study,emotion, will, happiness, self-efficacy, knowledge capability and skills, as well asacademic level, are carefully analysed. In this way, the efficiency of the strategies areexamined and the first-hand information about the application of the positive experientialteaching in the chemical experimental education in high schools is accumulated for thecolleagues’ reference.
