The students-centered, a teacher-led, employment-oriented vocational education reformsare developing into a higher level in the vocational education field. However, the quality of theteaching staff in secondary vocational school is still restraining its development in the reform.The overall weak professional competence and practical ability of teachers can’t meet theneeds of the students ’ professional learning and lifelong development, and of the economicand social development. Thus, it is particularly important to set up the supporting, scientificperformance management system with practical guiding significance in secondary vocationalschools. At present, the studies of secondary vocational school teachers ’ performancemanagement are at an initial stage with less studies on problems about system, mechanism andencouragement. And more cases are needed for the combination of the theory and reformpractice. To solve the problems, the research on the construction of teaching group insecondary vocational schools has been done by education administrative departments at alllevels and vocational schools in a positive way. The reform has gradually been entering intothe deepest place in each vocational school, facing the new challenge of quickening theconstruction steps of modern vocational education system, deepening the integration of schooland enterprise cooperation, training high quality talents. How to establish the supportinghuman resources management system in vocational education field, especially theperformance management of the teaching staff, has became the key, must-be-solved problem,which is also the one to be studied in this paper.According to the related theories on the management science and education science,Chongqing NZ Vocational Senior School has been taken as the example during the reform ofimplementing the performance management based on the researches of current status andrelative problems and suggestions of performance management work in vocational schools.The author has done the research by introducing the school, implementing, exploring theperformance management of the faculty and bringing the success experience in the school inorder to promote the management efficiency and better the reform as a helpful case.
