With the advancement of China’s modernization process, strengthening citizen education hasbecome an inevitable requirement of social development in our country. In the chapter " developingsocialist democratic politics unswervingly" of the18th national congress of the communist party ofchina,"strengthening citizen consciousness education" is mentioned specifically, and it is added to"establishing the concept of the socialist democracy and the rule of law, freedom and equality,equity and justice" later. So, citizen consciousness education has already become an importantsubject of Education of Party and state. As a basic means of foster people, school education need tosee cultivating citizen consciousness as an important task, education in the secondary school plays avery important role in cultivating citizen awareness especially. Therefore, it see consciousnesseducation in contemporary China as the topic in research, and see ideological and moral educationin the junior high school as the perspective. Through the combination of theory and practice, thispaper makes a thorough study on the content and process of the citizen consciousness education inthe moral education.This article is divided into five chapters, the specific content is summarized as follows: thename of chapter one is introduction, this part introduces the concept of citizens, citizen education,citizenship and civic citizen consciousness education, clarify the meaning of citizenship educationin our country. This paper elaborates the theoretical and practical background of proposing civiceducation, discusses the research status of citizenship education at home and abroad, and introducesthe ideas and methods of this study etc.; As for the second chapter, it find the content which reflectsthe pursuit of civic education, from the three parts---"objective, target, content standard" in thecurriculum standard of junior middle school ideological and moral in2011. And throughcomparison the content of the2003edition, the author found that the new curriculum standard is notonly consistent with the content of citizenship education in junior high school, and the revision keeppace with the times to strengthen its focus on the citizen consciousness education; The third chaptertakes Jiangsu version as example, by using the method of textual analysis,the paper analysis ifChina’s ideological and moral textbooks have citizenship education idea and content which basedon national education consciousness, responsibility consciousness, legal consciousness education,rights and obligations consciousness education, democratic education equality consciousness,cooperation consciousness education and global consciousness education and so on and the extentto which embodies civic consciousness education idea and content. By analyzing, the author foundthat there is consciousness of citizen education content in Jiangsu version textbooks, but it has a fewcontent of the connotation and extension of the right consciousness education and the consciousnessof democracy and equality education, and is lack of consciousness of free education content. Thefourth chapter takes a few middle school in Wuxi city as an example, investigates the situation ofstudents citizen consciousness since the implementation of the new curriculum standards, and interview with15moral teachers, and understand junior middle school students’ citizenconsciousness actuality from global consciousness, responsibility consciousness, legalconsciousness, right consciousness, national consciousness, democratic consciousness andcooperation consciousness, etc, to explore the problems existing in the citizen consciousnesseducation. Through the analysis of questionnaire, the author find that present situation of civicconsciousness of junior high school students in general is relatively good, they have strong globalawareness and consciousness of cooperation, but the cognition to patriotism, democracy andequality consciousness is not very complete, these need to be internalized into the heart. The fifthchapter put forward the reflection and suggestion of citizen consciousness education on moraleducation in junior middle school, the author thinks that the citizen consciousness education shouldstrengthen the fusion and ideological and moral education proposes a path to implementation andexpansion. Meanwhile, the paper summarizes the innovation and shortcomings, prospects for thefuture research.
