Research On Secondary Vocational School Teachers’ Professional Development

Secondary vocational education is one of important parts in education. As the subjectin vocational schools, the professional development of teachers in vocational schools is themain factor of the development of secondary vocational education.Recent years, educational equality of schools and professional development ofteachers have attracted attention both in China and overseas. In2013, professionalstandards of secondary vocational teachers, which provide aims for teachers, directions forschools and rules for educational management department, are put forward in China.With Secondary Vocational School Teachers’ Information and Training System, thepaper handed out questionnaires to2000teachers in vocational schools in Jiangxi Provinceonline. After the data are calculated, analysis and statistics, the problems, including threelevels（teachers, schools and educational management department）are exposed. As forteachers, the lack of awareness of professional development, the laggard abilities ofpractice, research and modern technology are essential problems. As for schools, thesimple training ways and training content no related to reality are significant troubles. Asfor educational management department, training target is inaccurate and training system isnot perfect.According to the above problems, the paper put forward some solutions. Above all,teachers should raise the awareness of professional development. Moreover, vocationalschools should create atmosphere for professional development of vocational teachers. Atlast, educational management department should set up perfect qualification standards andtraining system.
