Chinese teaching materials are important medium for students to learn language,which exert subtle influences on students’ view of gentle and life for the abundant andsignificant gender culture contained in them. Taking Chinese teaching materials of PEP(People’s Education Press) as examples, this paper makes depth study on the Femaleimages. Content analysis, documentation analysis and frequency analysis were made toexplore the expressed views and values.Female images in Chinese teaching materials of high school greatly affect students’gentle view, and guidance is being appealed to benefit the construction of emotion,attitude, as well as the humanism view. As an educational factor used to be neglected,Female images have significant and irreplaceable values in education.The second part of this paper is the depiction of Female images, giving a situationpresentation with content analysis and frequency analysis. The third part is aninterpretation of genealogy and discussion by multiple perspectives. The fourth partshows, the subjectivity construction of Female images is based on the Other, culturalanalysis and feature analysis were made to expose the irrationality. The fifth part is theintrospection on former parts and the indication on the existing problems. Modificationand improvement are needed to reconstruct rational Female images in Chinese teachingmaterials.The construction of gentle culture and Female images is a diachronic process ofgreat complexity. Feminism and the awareness of gender egalitarianism are supposed tobe integrated into further study to make some promotion.
