With the revolution of the English University Entrance Examination. English teacher is required more and more in many aspects. The basic function of English is communicating. As an important way for communication, questioning in English class is more and more significant. The thesis will invest the pattern of senior high school class questioning from the following parts.The first part will give a brief introduction for the background, significance, goal, content, methods of the research.Then the thesis will give an introduction of the related theories.The third part is a brief introduction of the methods used in the article.The fourth part is a research of the recent situation of senior high school English class. The thesis will record the class of 5 senior high school English teachers of Wanzhou NO.2 senior high school, and make a table according to the record.The last part is the analysis of the table. The thesis will analyze the cause of the situation and give some suggestions.In this thesis, four elements will be taken into consideration. They are the type of question, the waiting time, the type of feedback, responder. And draw the conclusion: the questions asked in the senior high English teachers’ class remain on low level cognition. The waiting time for students given by teacher is a little long. The advice is that solving the problems from the source, which are the types of questions. Teachers should use more high level cognition questions. In this way, the students can cultivate their ability of thinking in English and communicating in English. So that the goal of College entrance examination will be achieved.
