The stage of primary school is critical period for children to affect their development of physical and mental health. The feature of the primary mandarin textbooks is the union of its tool and humanity. The primary mandarin textbook has a significant influence on the future development of children, and it lays a good foundation for Children Chinese and other scientific and cultural knowledge. As a core of Chinese textbooks, text-selection has important instruction significance to promote children to learn Chinese, to enhance their language ability and to develop their Chinese attainment. Therefore, the author read the text-selection of Chinese textbook(Jiangsu edition) carefully, and found that it lack the thought of "child-orientation". It hinders children from learning Chinese.The author hopes that this thesis can provide readers with some enlightenment about textbook writing, teachers teaching, and students reading through the study of text-selection in the "child-orientation" of Chinese textbook(Jiangsu edition).In this paper, in the first chapter author analyzes the problem of text-selection which is in the Chinese textbook(Jiangsu edition) and explore the reason. In the second chapter, the author analyzes the current situation of the use of text-election through the way of questionnaire, conversation, and observation. The third chapter in view of the current situation of Chinese text-selection(Jiangsu edition) gives some sug gestions about editing and using.
