Abstract:"Special-class teacher" is one kind of both has the advanced and professional title. It specially set up by the nation to commend the particularly excellent primary and secondary school teachers. They’re not only the models of teacher’s ethics and examples of education, but also the experts in teaching. Studies on the universality of special-class primary mathematics teachers’ professional development help give full play to the exemplary and guiding role of special-class primary mathematics teachers and provide primary mathematics teachers with intellectual impetus and source of practice.In this research, we choose 30 famous special-class primary mathematics teachers in different generations in China as the objects of study, and take the methods as literature research, case study, interview, observation and statistical analysis to reveal the common laws from the universality of professional development in condition, design and approach. The study shows:firstly, about external conditions, the universality of the professional development of special-class primary mathematics teachers is that the educational policy paves the way for them; culture influence to be nourished them the professional development; school support guarantees the professional development; apprenticeship system accelerates the professional development of special-class primary mathematics teachers. About internal conditions, common love of education is the core motivation for the professional development of special-class primary mathematics teachers. The "love" mentioned here is manifested as that the teachers love teaching profession, mathematics subject and students. Secondly, about the universality in design, a clear goal indicates the direction for the professional development of special-class primary mathematics teachers, and unremitting pursuit drives the professional development of special-class primary mathematics teachers intrinsically. Thirdly, about the universality in approach, study, practice, research and introspection are the only way for special-class primary mathematics teachers to achieve success. Special-class primary mathematics teachers improve themselves by learning from teaching materials and other people; they toughen themselves by practicing hard to master basic skills, enriching mathematical literacy, manifesting mathematical characteristics and innovating mathematics classroom; they do in-depth scientific researches and exude lasting writing enthusiasms by training themselves in acute consciousness of problems, so as to improve themselves in researches; they reflect on themselves by reflecting on teaching and development.Finally, in this research, enlightenment is given in such three aspects as the strength of governmental guarantee, the effectiveness of school support and the degree of teachers’ effort, hoping to provide a solid and strong theoretical foundation and practical enlightenment for the continuous deepening of China’s educational reform and the constant improvement of teachers’professional literacy.
