"Professional identity" refered to the students’ cognition, attitude and emotion of their profession and community, autonomous learning and similar behaviors for obtaining professional developrrent, and strong will of insisting in learning this prof essional in study or work in the future. Hgher professional identity of full-time master graduate students played an inportant role in enhancing the student’s academic ability and comprehensive quality, and promoting students’ harmonious development. This research adopted questionnaire as a nai n method, supplemented by open-ended interviews to explain students’ professional i dentity for 145 post-graduate students fromfive universi ties in Hunan Province in four dimensionality including cogni tion, emotion, behavi or, and willOn the basis of enpirical study, this research had the following conclusions:1, full-time naster graduate student’ prof essi onal i dentity level in higher pedagogy was not so hi gh: the graduate students in this naj or were lack of full comprehensi on about their major; as to emotion, most graduate students showed indifference to thei r naj or; In the aspect of professional behavior, students were very active in taking apart inavariety of professional social practices, which were more popul ar than academic learni ng; most graduate students’ perf or nance i n prof essi onal will was not so fine.2, at the same time, there were sone features of master graduate student’ prof essi onal i denti ty:i n the four di mensisions of prof essi onal i dent i ty, prof essi onal behavi or showed the good situation of the graduate students, especially taking an active part in relevant professional practice; Senior graduate student’s professiona lidenti ty level was higher than the j uni or graduate students; compared with graduate students studying in accordance with the will of parents or others,those who choosing this professional by thenselves had a higher professional identityBased on the appl i cabletheory on pedagogy, sociology and psychology, this article comprehensively analyzed the root cause of the probl emby the research fromf our aspects i ncl udi ng personal, university, government and society, and nade some suggestions from four levels to promote post-graduate students’ professional identity.
