After the new curriculum reform, high-school history textbooks of PEP have been rewritten. The history textbooks of new version appear completely without the shadow of the old textbooks, and makes large-scale adjustments whether on the writing of the body of the textbooks or on the designs of the auxiliary texts. History textbooks are the guide of the history teaching work and the important medium which conveys the new concepts of curriculum reform to teachers and students, and plays an important role in the study of history textbooks. In the process of studying the textbooks, I find that compared with other auxiliary text columns, “the window of the study” of auxiliary texts have their own uniqueness, which is worth studying.This article locates the status of “the window of the study” in the textbooks and teaching; summarizes the characteristics of “the window of the study” in the comparison with textbooks; concludes that “the window off the study” has unique functions in the cultivation of students’ abilities, the development of teachers’ teaching activities and the exposition of new curriculum standard; shows how could students and teachers use “the window of the study” better; makes the author reflect on the problems exist at the moment of compiling “the window of the study”, expound my views in the article, put forward the views and make my own design.
