Objective:1. To explore the feature of parental rearing style in patients with depression. 2. To explore the feature of perfectionism in patients with depression. 3. To explore the possibility for the correlation of parental rearing style and perfectionism in patients with depression. 4. Not only to provide the psychological intervention for outpatient and inpatient depression patients, but also provide a reference for family education. Methods: There were used the way of questionnaires and semi-structured interview. The depression group is in 57 patients(male 27, female30, 14 to 37 years old) with depression who accorded with the criteria of DSM-V in a Mental Health Center of a city from August 2014 to March 2015. Whose native family is complete and had finished the middle school, as the same time willing to cooperate with this study. Otherwise the control group were selected 60 people(male30,female30) whose biological factors like age & gender and social factors like educational level were matching with the depression group, and never has the chronic physical disease and history of psychiatrist for medical treatment in hospital. Both groups were used EMBU and CFMPS. Analyzing the data by SPSS17.0. What’s more,by doing semi-structured interview to three subjects selected from group tested in the questionnaires study,the author finds that parental rearing style has indeed strong influence relationship with the perfectionism. Results:1. The parental rearing style of depression group has low warmth and understanding from parents, over punishment and strictness, over rejection and denial and over interference. There were significant differences between depression and control group(P<0.0 5).2.The total scores of perfectionism, concern over mistakes, parental expectations, and doubts about actions of depression group were higher than that in control group and it had distinctly different from that in Control group(P<0.05)except individual standard and organization(P>0.05).3. Every factor of parental rearing style with perfectionism exist significant correlation.4. Parental rearing style has significant predictor of perfectionism. Warmth and understanding from parents have a significant positive predictor of individual standard and organization of the adaptive perfectionism; Father’s partiality has a significant predictor of organization. Over protection from father, over-interference protection from mother has a significant positive predictor of concern over mistakes, parental expectations and doubts about actions of the unadaptive perfectionism. Warmth and understanding from father have a significant predictor of concern over mistakes; punishment and strictness have s significant positive predictor of parental expectations, rejection and denial have a significant negative predictor of parental expectations; punishment and strictness of father have a significant predictor of doubts about actions. Conclusion: The parental rearing style was closely related with perfectionism of the patient with depression. In clinical work, Psychologist and medical staff not only focus on personality characteristics of patients with depression, but also can do cooperate with patients’ families so that it can have a positive effect on the prevention and treatment in patients with depression.
