Quality of citizens and promoting the social development. The geographic literacy has received close attention of domestic and foreign educational circles, many countries or regions to improve the geographic literacy as a core concept of geography education. The new geography course reform of geography teaching from knowledge education into geographic literacy training, and lay a solid foundation for the development of it in middle school geography education. Therefore, according to the geographic literacy as the theme, taking Fuling District of Chongqing city high school students as the object, investigation of the present situation of senior high school students’ geographic literacy, analyzes the reason that high school students develop geographic literacy strategy.This paper is divided into four parts. The first part is the introduction, mainly describes the macro and micro background, theory and practical significance, domestic and foreign literature review, research purpose and content, research ideas and methods. The second part is the overview and theoretical basis of the geographic literacy, first from the scientific perspective of literacy implication and analysis to various interpretations of the geographic literacy, find the take geographic literacy meaning. Then it discusses guidance geographic literacy training based on two basic theories. The third part by way of questionnaires and interviews with teachers in Fuling District, Chongqing City high school students geographic literacy status quo investigation, carries on the contrast analysis to the city key high school, area key high school and ordinary high school student’s geography attainments, a profound analysis of the questions and the reasons existing in the present geographic literacy of students in Fuling District high school. The fourth part is on the basis of the first three parts, from the actual teaching point of view, for the reasons from the four aspects of school, teachers, parents and students of senior high school students in Fuling district geographic literacy training strategy, the school should create a geographic literacy environment, carry out field investigation activities, improve the quality of teacher training; teacher we should improve their literacy, cultivate students’ interest in learning geography, the depth of mining and processing of materials, pay attention to review questions set, adopt multiple ways of evaluation; parents should correct the geography curriculum prejudice, family education, culture is indeed let the children easily learn geography, for their children to fill in the children’s learning state feedback reflects table; students should improve geographic literacy in ordinary life and cooperative learning.
