In the beginning of this century, the Ministry of Education promulgated the "Ordinary High School Music Curriculum Standards (Experimental)." Thus, China began a new round of high school music curriculum reform. Implementation of the new high school music program is an important part of the music curriculum reform, but also to the ordinary high school music education has brought many new changes. Based on the implementation of high school music curriculum in De Yang city, this study aims to investigate the implementation of the current situation and problems of China’s new high school music programs, thus providing constructive criticism, pushing forward for the reform of the high school music curriculum.This study chooses six DeYang city high schools as the research subject, using literature research, survey research, analytical and observational research method etc., to conduct field surveys and studies on the status quo of the new music curriculum implementation in DeYang city high schools. On this basis, we explored a number of issues during the implementation of the new music curriculum for high schools, put forward some thoughts and suggestions, in order to promote the effective implementation of the new regional high school music curriculum, providing a reference for the healthy development of China’s new high school music curriculum.This paper is divided into four parts:(1)Introduction part elaborates on the origin, purpose and related concepts of some of the major topics of this article; (2)The second part of this paper describes the research content and methods, as well as the scope and object of research tools; (3) The third part is the detailed analysis of the research, providing statistics and analysis for the new music curriculum implementation research data in the DeYang city high schools, (4) The fourth part is thinking and proposals. In this paper, based on the survey and analysis of the results, we explored new high school music curriculum implementation related issues, providing relevant and constructive suggestions for music teachers, students and school leaders.
