The dissertation is a study on the reform and development of German vocational education under the Bologna Process. Although the Bologna Process originated in the European higher education, it exerts such tremendous influence that vocational education is also engaged. Aimed at exploring the new progress of German vocational education under the Bologna Process, this dissertation will mainly focus on three major reforms, which are the reform of academic degree system of the University of Applied Sciences in Germany, German Qualifications Framework of Lifelong Learning and German Credit System for Vocational Education and Training. Based on the existing in-depth research and comprehensive analysis, several enlightenment will be summarized to our country.There are six chapters in the dissertation.Chapter One is Introduction, which refers to the research background, significance, approaches, framework, concept definition and literature review. It’s the foundation of the study.Chapter Two is the background and the process of the Bologna Process. This chapter will clearly demonstrate the procedures of the reform and the goal of each stage, making preparation for the study of vocational education in Germany.Chapter Three is about the significant reforms of the vocational education in Germany under the Bologna Process, to be specific, the reform of academic degree system in University of Applied Sciences in Germany, German Qualifications Framework of Lifelong Learning (DQR) and German Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (DECVET) will be discussed section by section. This chapter is the key of the study.Chapter Four is the debate on the issue of the implementation of the Bologna Process. The impact of the reforms under the Bologna Process is a highly controversial topic in German society. Two main viewpoints will be summarized so that the effects can be clearly recognized.Chapter Five is the commentary of the effect of vocational education reform in Germany under the Bologna Process. On the basis of chapter three and chapter four, the advantages and disadvantages will be refined with the comprehensive analysis of the effectiveness of German vocational education reform.Chapter Six is the enlightenment of the vocational education reforms on our country. Combined with the current state in China during the construction of modern vocational education system, this chapter aims to seek the countermeasures and enlightenment on our country from the perspective of international comparison.These six chapters are closely connected with logic and composed the comparative research of the dissertation.
