In-post teaching practice serves as a kind of practice-based teaching for students in normal colleges and universities to improve their professionalism and comprehensive teaching ability and the implementary effect of in-post teaching practice will have direct influence on their educating quality. The implementation of in-post teaching practice consists of various links, each of which will affect the practice results. Therefore, it is of necessity to study the implementary status quo, the educating effect, the existing problems involved in the implementary process of in-post teaching practice, which will be of practical significance in that it can help further improve the mode of in-post teaching practice and offer suggestions for improvement.This research conducts investigation on the implementary status quo of in-post teaching practice through a case study of the Department of Geographic Sciences of Hunan Normal University. The thesis is divided into five parts:The first part deals with the research objective and significance. It outlines the research status of in-post teaching practice via combing through existing domestic and foreign literature on teaching practice and in-post teaching practice and puts forward the research object and method adopted in this study.The second part conducts investigation on the implementary status quo of in-post teaching practice of the Department of Geographic Sciences of Hunan Normal University in terms of its preparation, administration, evaluation, effects, rear services and influence on local education through questionnaires and interviews. Based on the investigation, the study analyzes problems existing in the implementaty process of the in-post teaching practice as well as their possible causes.The third part, as far as such irrational phenomena existing in the administration, time schedule and task assignment of the in-post teaching practice of the Department of Geographic Sciences of Hunan Normal University are concerned, expounds on the insufficient guidance, lack of institutionalized pre-job training, inadequate support from local education policy and funding shortage involved in the practice process.The fourth part, in the light of the problems existing in the process of the in-post teaching practice, proposes policy measures including deepening the reform of professional teaching in normal colleges and universities, improving management and administration and strengthening institutional guarantee for in-post teaching practice.The fifth part summarizes the research conclusion and innovation and puts forward suggestions for future research in this field.
