With the development of the informationalization of the Elementary Education,modern education technology has gradually become a new growth pole and supporting point in elementary education and its application is an indispensable part of the teachers’ professionalism. This article, targeting junior middle school teachers in the rural areas, investigated the application of the modern education technology in 9 rural middle schools of Hengyang from five dimensions, that are application preparation, application attitude, application condition、application behavior and application effect。The investigation result shows: the overall status quo of modern education technology application in rural middle schools of Hengyang is not that satisfactory.Specifically: inadequate preparation in modern education technology, teachers’ negative attitude towards modern education technology,lack of improvement of the application conditions in modern education technology and the unsatisfied application behavior. In additional, teachers with bachelor degree is better than the other two groups in application preparation, application attitude, and application effect; the professional title of the teachers in rural areas is Inversely proportional to their positivity, higher title with lower positivity。Educational teachers are better than non-educational teachers in application of knowledge and technology; There is no big difference among teachers of subjecs of liberal arts;while teachers of arts are not satisfied with the application conditions of modern education technology.With regard to the issues above, the author discussed factors of teacher, school and government, And proposed her suggestion:1. The teacher should enhance their professionalism in modern education technology by establishing their values of modern teacher and education technology under the instruction of the Standard of Information Technology Application of Primary and Secondary School Teachers(Trial), advancing their educational skills. 2. the schools, under the instruction of Guidelines of the National Program for Medium- and Long-Term Educational Reform and Development,should better provide necessary teaching conditions by bettering their software and hardware. 3.The government should investment more in rural middle schools so as to improve the evaluation mechanism of education in rural areas and further training system for teachers.
