The 21st century is an era about pursuing speed and efficiency. The development of Chinese teaching struggles under the severe situation. In 2012, Guangxi started to carry out the new curriculum reform. However, many Chinese teachers in Guangxi still adopt the method of cramming education’in Chinese teaching, which does not bring the satisfactory teaching effect as expected, especially in the teaching of ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese teaching in senior high school.Ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese teaching is an important part of Chinese traditional culture. It is the fruit of the wisdom and emotion of our country and the common spiritual home for the nation. After thousands of years of historical evolution, ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese teaching has presented such characteristics as beautiful, brief and concise, yet obscure, etc. Learning ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese teaching helps to develop the appreciation of literature, improve the level of contemporary writing, enrich the spiritual life, perfect one’s personality, promote the life state, and it also deepens the thinking and understanding of the individual’s connection with nation, society and nature. Thus, it is of great significance for senior high school students to learn ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese teaching.However, in senior high school, the current situation of ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese teaching teaching is not satisfactory in teaching time, content and method, where teachers’teach more’and students’learn less’, and it is not very effective. To change the current situation, the strategy Teach less, learn more’can be used in the teaching of ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese teaching in senior high school. The concept’teach less, learn more" is traditional but fresh. It is old because some similar views were brought up in the ancient China and foreign countries. Comenius, a great educator, was the first to put forward the concept ’teaches more, learn less’. Confucius’s concepts’learn by analogy" and ’gain new insights through reviewing old material’are consistent with that of Comenius. It is new because until recent years, with the further evaluation of education reform in Singapore, the concept’teach less, learn more’receives people’s attention. The relevant academic researches at home and abroad generally believe that’ teach less, learn more" is significantly meaningful in guiding the new curriculum reform and they are optimistic about its implementation. However, how to combine the concept ’teach less, learn more’ with the specific education situation of China is still a subject that requires the further two-way exploration of theory and practice so that theory can be used to guide practice, thus further improving and perfecting the theory in practice.In the study of the concept’teach less, learn more’and the background of the teaching of ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese teaching in senior high school, the author follows the following research train of thought "what-why-how to do" to generalize and summarize the teaching strategy and research method of "teach less learn more" in ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese teaching in senior high school.The introduction of the thesis mainly illustrates the research origin, summarizes the research status of the concept ’teach less learn more’at home and abroad, and analyzes the study’s key points and difficult points, main innovations, research methods etc. The relevant concepts are also defined in this part.The first part of the thesis mainly states the characteristics of ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese teaching in senior high school, points out the significance of learning the ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese for high school students, and analyzes the status and requirements of ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese in senior high school textbooks, college entrance examination, and the new curriculum.The second part of the thesis mainly analyzes the current situation of ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese teaching in senior high school from teaching time, teaching content and method. Besides, the effect of ancient poetry leaning is also analyzed. The third part mainly concludes five strategies and methods of ’teach less’ from the perspective of teachers:transform the idea of ’teaching more’ into ’learn more professional knowledge and teaching theory",’elaborately design ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese teaching, reflecting the features of the times’,’explain vivid images, creating democratic and lively classroom atmosphere’,’divers ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese teaching organizational forms", "multi-angle evaluation approach’.The fourth part of the thesis concludes six strategies and methods of’learn more’from the perspective of students:’achieve’learn more’by stimulating the students’interest in learning", ’emphasize the cultivation of students’comprehension and understanding ability, developing a good learning habit’,’exchange roles, permit students to step onto the stage and let students ask", ’based on the text, let students act it out’,’project learning, let students grasp the rule’,’hold reading sharing meeting, let students read more and learn more outside class’.The fifth part of the thesis mainly discusses and analyzes the strategies and methods of ’teach less, learn more’used in the teaching case of an ancient poem bells ringing in the rain. According to the thesis, we found that the strategies and methods under the guidance of the concept ’teach less, learn more’are feasible and have a certain advantage in ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese teaching in senior high school. The application of the strategies and methods of ’teach less, learn more’to ancient Chinese poetry and classical Chinese teaching helps to lighten students’study burden, improve the students’learning efficiency, promote the harmonious development between teachers and students, and eventually maximize the efficiency of classroom teaching. Even though there are difficulties in implementing/applying the concept ’teach less, learn more’in teaching practice, we should have enough courage to use the concept ’teach less, learn more’ to reform Chinese education, prompt the revolution of education, thus realizing the ideal of ’teach less learn more’...
