The rapid development of world science and technology results in the urgent need of innovative talents in all walks of life. "Innovation" is no longer the wealth of few technological talents, but has become the soul of a country and national progress and also what desired by all. Personal innovative thinking originates from questions, which are the driving force for thinking. Mathematical knowledge is the soul of innovative thinking whereas the soul of mathematical knowledge is the problem awareness. Without the awareness of problem, there will be no high quality mathematical thinking process, let alone the emergence of innovative things. Problem awareness is an inexhaustible source of producing new problems, learning new knowledge, find new views and create new things. In order to truly understand the status and affecting factors of junior high school students’ mathematics problem awareness, this paper proceeded from the practice of education and teaching on the basis of standard curriculum reform to make in-depth research of the mathematical problem awareness literature and related concept definitions. The author of this paper designed a questionnaire for the survey of junior high school students’ problem awareness and affecting factors. With the close cooperation of leadership and related head teachers of the serving school (Inner Mongolia North Heavy Industries First Middle School), the author conducted questionnaire survey of junior high school students of all grades. Two classes are selected by random sampling from each grade.383 questionnaires were distributed and 369 valid questionnaires were collected, including 152 of 153 questionnaires from two junior grade one classes,113 of 120 questionnaires from two junior grade two classes and 104 of 110 questionnaires from two junior grade two classes. After sorting, screening and excluding invalid questionnaires, the data of valid questionnaires were sorted and manually entered in to the computer, and SPSS11.0 was used to make statistical analysis of all data. Finally, by combining the analysis results and the mathematics teachers’ interview record, detailed discussion on methods and strategies of training students’ mathematics awareness. This research has brought significant changes to my future education teaching while also promoted our school’s mathematics teaching into a new phase. We hope this study could bring some help to the education of brother schools.Due to the limited capacity of the author, this paper must have many deficiencies to be corrected and improved. We hope the research could get the help and guidance from experts and peers, thanks!...
