Hundred years’ policy is based on education;while the education plicy is based on teachers.With the "music curriculum standards of compulsory education"(2011Edition) was enacted,Yantai promoted and deepened the new curriculum reform.Music education reform put forward a challenge to the music teacher’s education idea, anew type of strong professional quality of music teachers must be established,which is avery important topic. Literatures on the subject of information have also gotten significantpublicity, but the author found that most writers of the present study are the professors orscholars who do not work in the first line,others are the school master or doctor. Mostliteratures fail to reflect the true situation teaching and rarely can provide a new idea andstrategy research for the development of professional quality of music teachers in primary andmiddle schools.Has worked in the first line for more than10years,the author can really record the actualproblems that a music teacher would encounter in his professional growth, objectivelydescribe his experience of teaching success and failure. Furthermore, the author carried on theinvestigation to354music teachers in primary and middle schools in Yantai city as the object,and carried out a more in-depth study of the interviews to teaching researchers inmunicipality and the part districts of Yantan.Also the author investigated each school musicteachers’age, educational background, professional title, work status of scientific research,music teaching, classroom teaching, management mechanism about musiceducation, and theschool hardware facilities.The author made a comprehensive understanding to the Yantai Cityelementary and middle schools music teachers’ advantages and disadvantages of theprofessional development, refered to great deal of documents, combined with more than tenyears experience of front-line work, then put forward the professional quality andimprovement measures which a primary and secondary school music teacher shouldhave.The reserch has realistic meaning and practical value of the music teachers of middleand primary schools in Yantai city for better promoting and development of education andteaching work.This text divides five chapters besides the conclusion.The first part is introduction. It mainly elaborates this topic research background and significance of the topic, status quo of research at home and abroad, the research method ofthis topic,which will make the readers have a basic knowledge and understanding of the text.The second part is the theoretical study of primary and middle schools music teachers’professional quality under the new curriculum standards. According to the collectedliterature,the text researched on teachers’ professional quality theory achievements home andabroad and described the related concept of teacher specialization.The third part is the the professional quality which the primary and secondary school musicteacher should possess. Combined with the current new curriculum reform and the features ofprimary and middle schools music discipline, the text put forward the professional qualitythe elementary and middle schools music under the new curriculum standard should have.The third part also surveyed current situation of professional development of music teachersin primary and middle schools in Yantai City and found out the advantage and deficiency.The fourth part methodically analysed the existing problems of the professionaldevelopment in primary and secondary school in Yantai music teacher, proposed measures topromote professional development in view of the present situation.
