Along with the reform and opening up and the speeding up of urbanization, Chinesefloating population increasing, rural labor began to mass flow to the city. In this process,there are some special communities, undertaking the responsibility that should be borneby the both sides of couples,they are called "left-behind women". Because left-behindwomen use the more time in heaving production and housework, out of the labor, theyhave little leisure and entertainment, spiritual deprivation, therefore, their low quality oflife, the development of space restrictions. Wanting to raise sense of the self-developmentof left-behind women, the most fundamental factors is to constantly improve their ownunderstanding and evaluation level for themselves. Social work as a practical method ofprofessional help, providing the necessary assistance for the left-behind women is the eraof their professional mission and responsibility. This study attempts to under theguidance of Maslow hierarchy of needs theory, cognitive behavioral theory and theecological perspective, to find the senior needs of left-behind women in life and bychanging the perception to change its behavior, develop to meet the senior needs.Specific mode of operation is the use of group activities working methods to get involvedthe problems of the left-behind women’s self-development, taking the same developmentneeds of them formed a support group, let them know from experience the importance ofdevelopment, have a healthy body and a positive attitude to help them enhance theirself-worth, have new ideas, and create a warm and harmonious family atmosphereimprove their social status, and promote self-development, for social work practice is acomplement in the self-development field of "left-behind women".
