The Revelations Of The Methods Of Writing To Current Composition Teaching

The Methods of Writing, co-edited by Mr.Xia Mianzun and Mr.Liu Xunyu in1926, is a monograph on writing, aimed at guiding students’writing. Being practical and operational, it made important contributions to the composition teaching, and many of its concepts are of instructive significance to composition teaching till today. Based on a summary of the value of The Methods of Writing, this thesis analyses the composition teaching ideas of The Methods of Writing profoundly and deeply with the methods of documentary research, content analysis, case analysis and comparative research. Combined with the present composition teaching situation, it focuses on the revelations of The Methods of Writing to current composition teaching, i.e, the revelations to teaching materials compilation, the teaching principles, the writing subject, brainstorming, the language intuition enhancement and the ways of writing practice.
