Headteachers play an important role in the teaching and management in vocational school. With the progress of the times and the increase in the school-enterprise cooperation, headteachers in charge of enterprise practice appear in the traditional headteacher team. The construction of the vocational school headteachers has become an important part in the construction of secondary school. This paper conducted a sample survey of headteacher in Fuzhou vocational school based on the present situation and combined with the theory of headteacher training to discuss the ways to strengthen the construction of teaching staff in vocational school.The literature review carries on the historical review on headteachers in vocational school and introduces the roles headteachers play in the growth of vocational school students and the development of vocational schools. It also analyses the work of headteacher under the new situation and emphasizes the background and the need to strengthen the students’ moral education. It gives prominence to the significance of school-based training and does research into the content, form and safeguard mechanism in the training.According to the survey on the headteacher school-based training in Fuzhou Architeture Vocational School and Fuzhou Commercial and Trade Vocational School. The results of the questionaire and interview show that problems exist in training planning, organization, training contents etc.. The sustainable improving headteacher training system should be established to solve the problems, promote the headteacher’s professional development, strengthen the training concept and perfect the training planning, implement the training evaluation mechanism.
