Logical thinking ability plays a decisive role in student’s intellectual activities, concerned about high school geography students thinking ability is the main task and purpose of the new curriculum reform,it is major tasks and the ultimate goal of high school geography teaching. Therefore, how to cultivate excellent geography thinking teaching skills becomes an important part of geography teaching.Through carefully study of the relevant literature and collect various information to define the connotation of geography logical thinking ability, I considered geography logical thinking ability is abstract generalize things of geography, form of geography concept, understand the laws of geography phenomena by the judgments reasoning and analysis with the concept. With the students and teachers of first-line questionnaires and interviews, find out the existing problems in the teaching of geography by the analysis results of the survey:students’ interest of discipline is not enough、students’ study habits and self-learning ability is low level、students cannot understand the function of the deviation geography、most teachers lack of theoretical knowledge which guide the teaching practice、lack of complete geographical thinking skills training program in the teaching of geography。Through the findings, propose some ways to development students’ geography logical thinking ability in geography teaching:student must change the passive learning habits、improve the ability of geography teachers. In geography teaching class, we can develop students’ logical ability with sublimate the content of geography teaching, emphasis derivation in geography process, use of the chart to guide the thinking, and enhance students’ language skills, pay attention to the accumulation of basic knowledge of geography and create geography learning environments and other means to develop logical thinking ability geography of student.According to the analysis of teaching experiment, above ways in develop students’ geography logical thinking ability has a certain effect in the teaching geography.
