Teachers are the nucleus in the colleges and universities and young teachers are thebackbone and hopeful strength in the development of high education institution. Yongteachers’ effort plays an important role in improving the quality of higher education,expanding the role of universities, highlighting the functions of higher education, enhancingthe international competitiveness. As China’s education flourished today, with the expansionof the scale of Universities and increasing proportion of young teachers in the total number ofuniversity teachers, young teachers are the important force to promote the scientificdevelopment of colleges and universities. They are the warranty to achieve the colleges’continued, coordinated and fast development.Young college teachers’ ideological and political quality not only affects the collegestudents, but also the country’s future and destiny and all undertakings of socialistmodernization with Chinese characteristics. At present, China is undergoing profoundchanges in the economic system and the same in the social structure. There are series ofchanges in adjusting the pattern of interests and ideas. People have diverse of values becausea variety of ideas and culture are intertwined, collided, interacted. With the deepening ofreform and opening up and development of market economy, socio-economic, organizationalforms, employment, interests and distribution has increased diversely. There is life and valuesproblem among the minority teachers. With the rapid development and expansion of highereducation and school size, a large number of young newly graduated college students take toteaching or management positions, and the number tends to be growth rapidly. Youngteachers are the main fore and they have similar age, interests with the students. Their ideas,morals and behaviors are more likely to affect college students. Therefore, it is an urgent andimportant task for strengthening ideological and political quality of the training of youngteachers, either from microscopic view of universities or their own development or from amacro perspective of social development.This thesis is based on the theory of ideological and political education with empiricalsurvey research methods and theoretical analysis. It intends to have an useful discussionabout "young college teachers’ ideological and political quality situations and countermeasures".Part I: General Theory of young college teachers’ ideological and political qualities.First, from meaning and components of the ideological and political quality the subjects ofstudy are confirmed; the concepts of "quality" and "ideological and political quality" aredefined. Second, the three aspects content ideological and political quality of young teachers:the ideological quality, political quality and moral qualities are analyzed. Third, the basicrequirements of young college teachers’ ideological and political qualities are analyzedcompletely. Finally, the importance and necessity of young teachers’ ideological and politicalquality, a special responsibility and the historical mission of three college students’commitment are stated to strengthen from the profound changes in the international anddomestic situation.Part II: Ideological and political quality situations and reasons of young collegeteachers’. First, the results of the questionnaire were analyzed and summarized by a chart;then it is concluded from the questionnaire survey that young college teachers’ ideologicalmainstream of current political qualities are positive and healthy: clear life purpose, strongsense of patriotism. But there are also some problems like valuing personal interests, lackingteam consciousness, educational awareness and sense of dedication; emphasizing onprofessional quality, but lacking of political quality. The reasons for these problems aremainly two aspects: First, the negative influence of the social environment and the impact ofWestern value system; Second, the lacking of ideological and political construction guide foryoung teachers.Part III: Measures to improve the quality of young college teachers’ ideological andpolitical discussion. This section is based on the theoretical and practical founders of the firstpart and the second part in order to find out the ways to deal with the situations, whichdiscussion on countermeasures to improve the ideological and political education of youngteachers in Colleges and Universities. In order to give a guarantee of the contemporary youngcollege teachers’ ideological and political quality education, this thesis proposed effectiveways and methods as following: the Country and the State administrative department ofeducation have to pay attention to political quality of young college teachers’, an effectivesocial support system should be build, a good atmosphere should be create, a good working environment and training system should be created; young college teachers should improvetheir own ideological and political quality by themselves.In short, young college teachers’ ideological education is a systematic project, onlyperfecting the ideological and political work under the new situation, and improvingideological and political quality of young university teachers, can they take the load ofcultivating talents. This training event is not only about training our successor, but also aboutthe stability and development of universities. It has vast importance to the generalrequirement of adaptation of socialist modernization of our country and cultivation ofprospective talents of the new period.
