Education on life consciousness is not only about teaching strategy and method, but also includes the awareness of human’s mind, or the awareness about the meaning of life.Education on life consciousness follows people’s personality, guiding people towards the correct understanding on life safety, spiritual life and life attitude. The education should be included into the educational system in China’s rural areas, for it demonstrates the respect, inclusiveness, understanding and perfection of life.The thesis includes three parts. The first part introduces the absence of life consciousness education in the elementary and middle school in China’s rural areas, which will be demonstrated through teachers and students. Teacher’s pessimistic attitude towards life leads to the absence of the education on life awareness, while the absence of students’awareness on life results in not that positive attitude towards life. The second part analyzes three reasons:firstly, the absence of effective life consciousness education; secondly, the limitation of teaching environment in rural areas; thirdly, the lack of parents’education. The third part will provide strategies and suggestions based on the above analysis. The thesis believes:the overall education environment in rural areas should be improved; the relationship between school and family should be strengthened; teachers should be effectively trained; and students’attitude on life and living should be prioritized in the teaching design of elementary and middle school in rural areas.
