In recent years, rural migrant workers draw great attention of the society, and the education of their children has become the focus of the society. In order to give children of migrant workers a more comfortable environment for learning and living, the government has kept introducing some policies to guarantee their rights of receiving compulsory education in the city. Although they could be enrolled, resulting problems have inevitably arisen because of the different living environment and household background between rural and city. They are slow in improving the school performance and lack of self-confidence. They usually underestimate their abilities and incapable of adjusting to the environment, which are evidences of low learning self-efficacy. The improvement of learning self-efficacy could help students finish work unremittingly under different circumstances. Therefore, this paper studies the children of migrant workers and takes the case of a high school in Urumqi to extend a empirical research to the learning self-efficacy of the children of rural migrant workers.This paper is divided into three parts.In the first part, the basic definition and literature review are stated (Chapter1)It clearifies the purpose, significance, method and ideas of the research, as well as the framework of the paper. It also discusses the theoretical basis of the research. In view of the core of this research is to find influencing factors to the learning self-efficacy of rural migrant workers’ children, the present situation of their learning self-efficacy is analysed. The research methods includ literature analysis, questionnaire investigation and interviews.In the second part, the analysis of the learning self-efficacy of migrant workers’ children is included (Chapter2).After analysing the theory of self-efficacy, research methods and existing problems, the paper combines the interviews with the questionnaire compiled by other scholars to discover the influencing factors. It reveals that learning self-efficacy of children of migrant workers is generally low, parents and teachers themselves are deficient in exploring and developing students’ learning self-efficacy. The discussion has laid a foundation for putting forward the strategy of cultivating the learning self-efficacy.In the third part, the cultivation strategy of rural migrant workers’ children is proposed (Chapter3and conclusion).Considering the influencing factors of learning self-efficacy of migrant workers’ children, the interviews to the students and the attribution theory from the standpoint of teachers and parents, this paper proposes the cultivation strategy of self-efficacy of rural migrant workers’children.
