According to the Ministry of education publicly released data show that until 2014, China’s various types of colleges and universities reached 2788, achieve 34.6 million in the total number of registered students in higher education, higher education enrollment rate of nearly 34.5%. The scale of the expansion is no longer the focus of the development of the University, the face of the fierce competition in the market, the quality of personnel training has become the focus of attention of the community. Over the years, the Ministry of Education as the state education administration of the highest issued a number of files, requiring governments at all levels and universities should attach great importance to improve the quality of teaching. At present, each university attaches great importance to the quality of education and teaching, and will guarantee the quality of undergraduate teaching as the fundamental of university. The practice has proved that the university undergraduate teaching assessment plays a huge role in improving the university personnel training quality.Through literature review, the paper analyzes the development, current situation, existing problems and results of undergraduate teaching assessment in domestic and foreign universities.
