Gratitude is a wonderful feelings, is the moral bottom line of the person’sbehavior, is the lubricant of social harmony. The thought of gratitude has a longhistory in China, and is a shining part of the Chinese nation traditional culture. Aperson must first set up moralities, and it needs to learn to be grateful. Butgratitude is not inherent nature, it needs to be acquired through external educationto make people set up the sense of gratitude and the good moral character ofgratitude. Gratitude education is a kind of emotional education, moral educationand humanistic education. Minors are the masters of the future society, shoulderingthe great task of building a harmonious society that is given by our country and ournation. Since they haven’t yet formed the world outlook, the outlook on life andvalues, they must be the first to accept gratitude education.Since the reform and opening up, great changes have taken place in oursociety. The rapid development of economy brings hope to people, and economicinterest becomes the final purpose of people. However, good moral characters suchas gratitude are gradually being forgotten and neglected by people, and beingsqueezed below people’s moral bottom line. Minors grow up in a society floatingthe smell of money here and there, gratitude is further and further to them. Such asituation is worrying. we must find the cause of this problem to determine thecontents of gratitude education of minors, explore the effective ways of minorseducation on gratitude and call for the return of the quality of gratitude so that wecan train minors into the qualified builders and successors of the cause ofsocialism.This paper consists of four parts:The first part: The overview of gratitude education. First of all, by drawing onthe description of the grateful Chinese traditional culture and the modern scholar’sstudy, defines the meaning of gratitude. On this basis, further defines the meaningof gratitude education. Secondly, analyzes the important significance of gratitude education of the contemporary minors. To start with, gratitude education is thebreakthrough point to inherit and carry forward the traditional virtues of theChinese nation; second, gratitude education is the accelerator of constructing thesocialism harmonious society; third, gratitude education is the handrail ofpromoting the construction of school moral education; fourth, gratitude educationis the starting point for minors to consummate themselves.The second part: Analysis of current situation of the sense of gratitude aboutcontemporary minors. Firstly, summarizes the performance about the lack ofgratitude consciousness of the contemporary minors. Through a questionnairesurvey, this part reflects the serious lack of gratitude consciousness of thecontemporary minors with data clearly. Then concretely summarizes theperformance about the lack of gratitude consciousness of the contemporary minorsfrom the following aspects: be unfilial towards parents; disrespect teachers; thelack of social responsibility; the lack of the consciousness of protecting the nature.Secondly, analyzes the reasons of the lack of gratitude consciousness of thecontemporary minors from three aspects: family, school and society.The third part: The content and process of the gratitude education ofcontemporary minors. Firstly, according to the analysis of the performance and thereasons about the lack of gratitude consciousness of the contemporary minors, putsforward the contents of gratitude education of the contemporary minors, namelytells students to be grateful to parents, teachers and friends, our country and nation,the nature. Secondly, according to the educational contents and educational rules,puts forward the process of gratitude consciousness of the contemporary minorswhich includes the education of gratitude cognition, gratitude emotion, gratitudewill, gratitude faith and gratitude behavior.The fourth part: The effective ways of gratitude education of thecontemporary minors. According to the performance and the reasons about the lackof gratitude consciousness of the contemporary minors, applies an antidote againstthe disease, discusses some ways of gratitude education of contemporary minors from three aspects of family, school and society: optimize the way of familyeducation; to strengthen and improve college gratitude education; create a socialatmosphere filled with gratitude.
