Function module teaching occupies very important position in the junior middle school mathematics. Function is a common thread throughout the algebra, and knowledge of equation, inequality has intrinsic connection, is an important model to solve practical problems of life. Function of module is associated with other chapters, and a lot of mathematical knowledge. At the same time, Function has a widely practical application. Contact life actual pay more attention to the new curriculum reform, strengthen the function relationship between knowledge and problem solving, knowledge of pure mathematics level difficulty, embodies the "junior middle school mathematics curriculum standard" advocated by the "people learn valuable mathematics, everyone can get the necessary mathematics, different people have different development in mathematics" the basic idea, make mathematics education for the students, but also in classroom teaching to implement on each student’s personal development.First discusses the domestic and foreign research status on the teaching of junior middle school function module and the law of the development process, from teaching bruner’s cognitive structure theory, piaget’s cognitive development theory, James dobbins base theory, on the basis of function module in the junior middle school mathematics teaching is analyzed.In collecting, sorting and analyzing the related research results, on the basis of grade of yanji two high school grade eight parallel test paper test classes,400 students, understanding the function content knowledge in junior middle school students, from students perspective function disorder and common problem in learning, and undertake to the student questionnaire survey, mainly for students to learn the function of the attitude, knowledge, for mathematics teachers’ teaching method and the mathematics teaching material known several aspects carries on the statistics and analysis. At the same time from the teachers’ teaching ideas and teaching practice, questionnaire, randomly selected 40 teachers of mathematics to understand the contents of the function teaching present situation, combining with interview method, thorough classroom to detailed understanding of these teachers, from the perspective of teachers’ function.According to the questionnaire results can be seen that students’ cognition about the function level is not high, the students’ thinking ability is not strong, students are not formed the good study learning and teachers’ teaching level is not high to the junior middle school function module teaching existence predicament, and analyzes the difficulties and finally put forward the following six function module teaching strategy (1) To strengthen the concept of function to form; (2) Attaches great importance to the decomposition of combination of teaching and the number form combining teaching methods; (3) Improve students’ main body status; (4) The creation of problem situation; (5) Teachers’ role change, enhance the level of teachers’ function; (6) Give full play to the advantages of multimedia teaching. This paper will discuss the theoretical basis of the function of teaching. As the same time, it will research and analysis the current situation of teaching of function. Summed up the teaching strategy of function module.
