Teachers should lay emphasis on students being the core in the process of teaching, and teach them how to study, which is not only parents’ expectation, but also the requirement for students’ healthy growth; above all the basic concept of classroom teaching. The pattern of traditional education overstresses students’ passively receiving knowledge, widely ignoring their status as a core. This hasn’t catered to the goals of quality education, not beneficial to students’lifetime learning and not adaptable for the ever-changing structure of modern social knowledge. School teaching, while achieving the goals of the courses, returns classroom to students and enables them to study happily, actively and creatively by making them gain the sense of achievement, challenging themselves constantly and improving study habits continuously, which makes teaching efficiency better and more active, and teaching effects more prominent.This paper contains four parts:Chapter One mainly analyzes the background and significance of the research, and comb through the present situation of teaching and do some analytical research on some established concepts, according to the current widespread teaching models of math in senior high. Combining the writer’s rational meditation, the paper defines some core concepts, such as "subject", "core", "the core of senior high teaching, on which basis the paper seeks for the research value of the argument and raises main questions to do research on.Chapter Two, according to the writer’s own teaching practice and meditation, points out the nature of the education process of students being the core and main factors influencing the development of students’ being the core and its harms, adapting to which the teaching principles set according to the writer’s analysis and documentaries are the theoretical basis of the paper.Chapter Three comprehensively seeks for effective approaches to students’ core status from the following aspects:to establish the question context and harmonious relationship between teachers and students; to reform teaching methods; to instruct students how to study; to better the pattern of homework; to dig up the depth of textbooks; to reform the evaluation system.Chapter Four takes students in the writer’s school as the objects of the research, and do experimental design and research combining classroom teaching, according to the present situation of students being the core and math teaching effects of the writer’s class, by means of inquiry papers, interviewing students and analysis of grades of examinations. This reflects the research findings of the argument.The paper, by means of documentary, student inquiry-survey, interview, practice and experiment etc, expects to promote teachers’ teaching methods and the active effects of students’ learning and the efficient, harmonious and sustainable development of classroom teaching of math.
