Nowadays, with the rapid development of educational theory and computer science, modern educational technology is changing the mindset of people, and has a significant impact on the development of education, so the concept of blended teaching comes into being. Blended teaching is a kind of teaching model, which combines the advantages of digital teaching and traditional face-to-face classroom teaching. In the teaching process, blended teaching not only brings a leading role of teacher, but also fully reflects students’ subjective position.The effective practice of blended teaching desperately needs perfect network teaching platform and high quality online courses. MOOC(Massive Open Online Course), as a new form of online course has many advantages, including complete teaching steps and structure design, unique resources and functional design, immediate feedback and peer assessment, the technology of educational data mining. It has injected energy and vigor into blended teaching. Applying MOOC to blended teaching is beneficial for promoting qualified educational resources sharing and educational equality, expanding university’s reputation and improving the quality of higher education, making up the limitation of MOOC and getting its best efficacy.The course “Ideology and Moral Cultivation & Basics of Law” undertakes the very important task in ideological moral education and basic legal knowledge education. It plays an important role in helping college students to build correct outlook on life and value and adapt to college lives in a better and quicker way. However, a lot of problems have existed in the implementation of the course “Ideology and Moral Cultivation & Basics of Law”, the content of course is outmoded, the classroom still adopts rigid and serious teacher-centered teaching model, the phenomena of students’ escaping-course and study-weariness are very common, teacher-student interaction is not enough, the teaching standard and curriculum quality of different colleges vary greatly.Faced with these problems, this paper tried to introduce the blended teaching based on MOOC for the course “Ideology and Moral Cultivation & Basics of Law”. From the following four aspects, including basic principles of blended teaching, the goals of blended teaching, the framework of blended teaching model and students’ evaluation systems of blended teaching, this paper provided ideas and methods for teachers to construct the blended teaching based on MOOC.In order to understand and grasp the performance of the blended teaching based on MOOC that applied to the course “Ideology and Moral Cultivation & Basics of Law”, this paper adopted questionnaire method and interviewing method to do an empirical investigation and analyzed the survey results. According to the survey results, the experience and shortcomings during the application of the blended teaching based on MOOC have been summarized. For these problems encountered in blended teaching, this paper recommended some suggestions and provided references for teachers applying blended teaching based on MOOC successfully in the future.
