In The Decision on Accelerating the Development of Modern Vocational Education, the state council clearly pointed out that industry-education integration and school-running characteristics are the basic principle for the accelerated development of vocational education. Industry-education integration, as the major feature in vocational education, also differentiates itself from other forms of education. The feature of higher vocational education determines its closer relationship with the local industries. The development of local industry serves as the basis for the survival and development of higher vocational education while the development of higher vocational education is the driving force for the development of local industries.From the perspective of the relevant concepts, such as higher vocational education and industry-education integration, this paper offers an analysis of the necessity of the development pattern of industry-education integration in higher vocational education. By taking the 72 higher vocational colleges in Jiangxi province as the research object, this paper also analyzes the specific approach to industry-education integration, tries to find out the existing problems and puts forward the relevant countermeasures from the aspects of industrial layout, specialty structure, employment status, school-enterprise cooperation and industry-school cooperation. It is necessary to further consolidate the development of higher vocational colleges in Jiangxi province and serve the social and economic development so as to give fresh impetus to the higher vocational education.This paper is divided into 5 parts: The first chapter is Introduction that expounds on the research background and significance, the current status of research in China and foreign countries as well as the research thoughts and methods. The second chapter is The Necessity of the Development Pattern of Industry-Education Integration in Higher Vocational Education. It defines the relevant concepts, such as higher vocational education, higher vocational colleges and industry-education integration, sorts out the development course of higher vocational education and stresses the necessity of the development pattern of industry-education integration in higher vocational education. The third chapter is the Current Status and the Existing Problems of Industry-Education Integration in Jiangxi Higher Vocational Colleges. It introduces the social and economic development strategy and the basis information about the higher vocational colleges, analyzes the specialty structure in these colleges and the positioning relationship of industrial layout in the 12 th Five-Year-Plan as well as the basic information about the industry-education integration and finds out the existing problems and reasons.
