With the complete advance of quality education and the implementation of policy to vigorously develop modern vocational education, secondary vocational school should take the realization of students’ overall development and personality development as the ultimate goal of education. Since class is the basic unit of school educational activities, the quality of class management will directly decide whether the school’s educational goals can be smoothly achieved As the idea of democratic management has permeated into every field, to apply the democratic management theory to class-management practice, to transform the demand of class management to internal need of all students following the principles of equality, equity and publicity, to create a relaxed, free and harmonious atmosphere for students, to encourage students’independent decision-making, independent execution, independent supervision and independent evaluation to form the model of class self-management, finally to realize students’ all-round development and personality development have become the projects for secondary vocational schools to solve urgently.Both the geographical advantages of locating in the juncture of China, Russia and North Korea and its national characteristics of Korean-nationality agglomeration have decided the Specificities of Yanbian area in its students’structure of its secondary vocational schools. Therefore, aiming at the features of secondary vocational schools in Yanbian area, it is of great practical importance to study how to scientifically and effectively carry out class self-management.Based on the theories of self-management, democratic management, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, multiple intelligence and Mayo’s interpersonal relationship, the study combines with the relevant research results at home and abroad, chooses the representative secondary vocational school in Yanbian area-Yanbian Vocational and Technical College to students as the subject in the study, utilizes SPSS 18.0 statistical software to analyze the questionnaire, understands the present situation of class self-management of this school, combines with the interviews for students, draws the findings that with low level of self-management consciousness, the students are lack of initiative to actively participate in class management; the class management is lack of democratic nature, and the management is ossified; the self-management consciousness of class cadre needs to be strengthened, and the ability to independently participate in classroom management needs to be improved. Then the study dissects the reasons for the low consciousness and ability of students’self-management from the aspects of society, family and school, at the same time the misunderstanding of democratic management and lack of effective incentive mechanism in class management are also the main reasons to result in the above findings.On the basis of the above conclusion, according to the theory of democracy and the theory of class self-management, puts forward four measures to improve the present situation of class self-management such as creating opportunities for students to manage their class by themselves through multiple channels; strengthening the democratic sense of members of class; scientifically and reasonably selecting the class cadres; implementing multi-dimensional assessments. This research is expected to further enrich the theory of class self-management and improve the class management efficiency of secondary vocational schools.
