Research Of The Relationship Among Professional Commitment, Proactive Coping And Career Maturity Of College Students

With the vigorous development of vocational education and vocational guidance, career maturity is a key index to measure the occupation career development which has become the focus of psychological research. Career maturity refers to the individual ready to make wise, age appropriate career decision and the degree of succeed in coping with career development of tasks. Both professional commitment and proactive coping are closely related to career maturity, so it’s very necessary to discuss the relationship between the three, meanwhile, the research can provide a basis and reference for improving the students’ career maturity and intervention.These data were collected using questionnaires. Subjects of the research are students from Wen Zhou university which stands for local university and Zhe Jiang university which stands for national key university.Firstly, generally speaking, college students’ career maturity,professional commitment, Proactive Coping were in good condition and were higher than the average level.Secondly, college students’ career maturity weren’t significant differences in gender and the number of degrees; were significant differences in school category. Single degree students from Wen Zhou university weren’t significant differences in grade, but single degree students from Zhe Jiang university were significant differences in grade.Thirdly, college students’ professional commitment weren’t significant differences in gender; were significant differences in school category and the number of degrees. Single degree students from Wen Zhou university weren’t significant differences in grade, but single degree students from Zhe Jiang university were significant differences in grade.Fourth, college students’ proactive coping weren’t significant differences in gender and the number of degrees; were significant differences in grade and school category.Fifth, professional commitment had a significant positive correlation with career maturity, affective commitment and continuance commitment joint interpreted the degree of variability of career maturity 11.8%.Sixth, proactive coping had a significant positive correlation with career maturity, it interpreted the degree of variability of career maturity26.8%.Seventh, professional commitment had a significant positive correlation with proactive coping, affective commitment and normative commitment joint interpreted the degree of variability of proactive coping 20.7%.Eighth, proactive coping plays a role of intermediary between professional commitment and career maturity, and the mediating affection is 59.49%.
