The talents cultivation target of "cultivating a large number of production and service high-quality first line workers and practical talents" in Secondary Vocational Education has decided improving students’ comprehensive quality and strengthening students’ practical application ability cultivation should be the starting points and foothold of all teaching activities in secondary vocational schools. Chinese Language lesson is the basic culture courses secondary vocational school, Chinese language teaching should take cultivating students’ humanities accomplishment and other language application abilities, such as reading ability, writing ability and oral communication ability of modern papers" as its main goal. News writing style is one of the current application styles in secondary vocational Chinese textbook, it is also the easiest style to be carried out in practice teaching as well as the most beneficial style to students’ language application ability training. But in secondary vocational Chinese teaching, the school tends to equate news writing style of teaching with other teaching styles, which focus on knowledge teaching instead of practice teaching, such kind of teaching can not pay enough attention to cultivating students’ comprehensive quality and improving students’ language application ability.For the above reasons, this article selects Chinese news writing teaching in secondary vocational schools as the research object. This paper aims to the current situation of imparting knowledge, ignoring practice teaching and going against cultivating students’ language application ability existing in current secondary vocational Chinese teaching and attaches importance to put forward reform ideas of news writing style teaching from the course content, teaching process and effect evaluation. Combined with the practical status of students and news writing style features in secondary vocational students, the author designs practice teaching processes, pay attention to the participation of students in interview, writing, reviewing and others, he also highlights the importance of news writing style in cultivating students’ comprehensive quality and reading ability, writing ability, oral communication ability, to build a new pattern of Chinese news writing teaching for secondary vocational schools, which can improving students’ Chinese language application ability.This paper has four parts, the introduction part introduces the background of current Chinese language teaching which has not paid much attention to students’ practice ability and significance of conducting teaching reform of Chinese language news writing which can improve students’ comprehensive quality and application ability and practice ability cultivation regarding paper-title-selection, it also introduces the research status at home and abroad on news writing teaching and research methods used in this article. In the first chapter, the author conducts research on the current statues of Chinese news writing teaching in Weifang Technology and Secondary vocational schools through using questionnaire and analyzes the cause of this situation from teachers, students, curriculum and news resources inside and outside of the school. In the second chapter, the author analyzes the relationship between Chinese news writing teaching and students’ language application ability cultivation in the secondary vocational schools. In the third chapter, the author proposes news writing teaching reform from the reform of course contents, teaching process and effect evaluation measures to build new teaching mode of news writing teaching that can improve students’ comprehensive quality and the language application ability cultivation in secondary vocational schools and propose detail news writing teaching reform implementation strategy reform, such as study of Chinese language teaching material news style article, news literacy and awareness training, news writing activity organizations, news writing training, news work publishing, reviews of news works of; and put forward a performance evaluation mechanism suited to the characteristics of the secondary schools to improve Chinese teachers’ quality and a guarantee to news writing teaching reform by carrying out practice teaching with the help of school medias.This paper will take news writing teaching reform as the breakthrough point, explore and build a new mode of Chinese teaching in secondary vocational schools which can highlight the practice teaching and be more conducive to cultivating students’ Chinese language application ability.
