During the contemporary primary school’s music education process, music classroom teaching and music extra-curriculum activities have the relationship of mutual promotion and supplementing each other. Nowadays, the pure music classroom teaching could no longer meet with the students’ needs in exploring new things, and it could not help the students find their own hobbies and interests. One good lesson of music classroom teaching should not only be able to motivate the students’ nice aspirations for learning music, but also can urge them to produce learning interests in taking an active part in music association activities. At the same time, primary school’s music association activities could also have far-reaching influences on the students’ music learning, and can help them set up confidence and promote personal comprehensive abilities. With the development of music education curriculum reform, in China’s first-tier and second-tier cities, primary school’s music education is under rapid development, especially that primary school’s music association activities are already quite popularized and taking an important position in the field of music education. Yet in county-level cities, whether primary school’s music association activities conform to the requirements of the nation’s education sector, and how is the work carried out? Based on thinking into these issues, the author decided to carry out survey and research into the current situation of primary school’s music association activities in Shandong Province Shouguang City, wishing to come up with the current situation of primary school’s music association in county-level cities.Shouguang’s primary and secondary school education has made prodigious improvement in recent years. With great input into teaching including music teaching, Shouguang’s primary school music classroom teaching has made outstanding achievements. Yet through thorough observation, we can find that as primary school’s music extra-curriculum activities, music association activities are not that satisfactory. Through investigation and research into the current situation of Shouguang primary school’s music association activities, there are still many problems in the development of current primary school’s music association activities in Shouguang. Due to imbalance in various regions’ economic development in Shouguang, there are great differences in input and faculty on music education. For this, this paper carries out research into Shouguang primary school’s music association activities and conducts studies with approaches such as literature research method, questionnaire survey, on-the-spot investigation, interviewing method, etc. The paper comes up with some reasonable resolution strategies and would offer some help towards the development of primary school’s music association activities.This paper carries out discussion from four parts. The first part is mainly on theories research, and discussions into the research background, research significance and connotations of music association activities, implications and research current situation of music associations, and notions and significance of primary school’s music association activities. The second part is mainly on field investigation of primary school’s music association activities, including questionnaire survey of teachers and students in schools that have or have not launched music association activities, survey into teachers interview contents, and sorting and analysis towards questionnaire survey and interview results. The third part is mainly on coming up with the existing problems in current Shouguang primary school’s music association activities based on the above survey results and analysis. The fourth part is to put forward some development countermeasures against the above problems and tries to offer some help towards the development of Shouguang primary school’s music association activities.
