In November 2012, according to the 18th Report of the Chinese Communist Party, the ideological and moral construction of the teenagers should be further deepened, starting in the schools. The socialist values should be nurtured and practiced throughout the field of basic education, and be implemented in terms of education and management services. As a result of that, the Ideological Education and Management has gained increasingly widespread concern in various sections, especially the education sector. In the field of basic education, the ideological education and management of Senior High Schools has been further carried out. To be specific, the Senior High Schools in various regions of the country has begun to gradually carry out the quality education, which requires the all-round development of morality, intellect, physical status, aesthetics and labor. Meanwhile, the school leaders have strengthened the concentration and importance of the ideological education and management of senior high schools as well as intensified the implement of the ideological education and management in senior high schools. With the deepening of the Education Reform, most Senior High Schools nationwide have made certain progress in the ideological education and management, which has aroused the notice of the whole country. However, for a long time, most high school leaders put excessive emphasis on examination and intellectual education and thus neglect the importance of the ideological and moral education, which has directly or indirectly led to some serious consequences or even irreparable losses, such as the Ma Jiajue Event in 2004, the shocking cases of teachers’ being killed by students, increasing students’ suicide cases that have emerged in recent years and so on. All these terrified news are actually a warning of the importance of the Ideological Education and Management in schools. Also, it shows very clearly that there are still many problems in the current ideological education and management of senior high schools in our country.As for the reason, we can easily figure out that the root of all these problems lies in the prevalence of examination-oriented education, which strengthens the constant improvement and advancement of students’ intellectual education as well as exam results, but fails to promote the formation and development of students’ personalities as well as values. On the one hand, the school leaders and teachers generally lack in-depth study and implementation of the ideological education and management. Instead, mostly they tend to be stuck in "Dogmatism" or simply think of "temporary solution" to the management problems. The Senior students, on the other hand, seem to be a special group. They have already formed certain outlook on life and world view, but their personalities and minds have not been fully characterized, which are vulnerable to the environmental impact. Besides, in terms of the social environment, some parents lack certain knowledge and attention of the ideological education and management, which has affected the consistency of education and management. At the same time, the profound development of Information Age and the popularization of the intellectual digital products, which are considered to be "double-edged swords", cannot be ignored, for they not only have enriched the spiritual life of students, but also have caused certain resistance and adverse effects in the implementation and progress of ideological education and management of senior high schools.Therefore, according to the analysis of the above problems and reasons and based on the guidance of the theories of public administration as well as the ideological education and management of senior high schools, this thesis focuses on the in-depth study of the ideological education and management of H Senior High School in Zhongshan City, which is taken as the main example throughout the essay. By using the method of literature interpretation, questionnaire, analysis from various angles, etc., this thesis mainly studies on the present problems and consequences, analyzes the reasons thoroughly and accordingly proposes appropriate constructive measures of the ideological education and management of H Senior High School in Zhongshan City. Moreover, this thesis aims to offer certain help to the further development of the ideological education and management of this school as well as to become an effective reference for the nationwide education management in the future. |
