Teachers’ value orientation is one of the important indicators of teaching values and teaching effects. Therefore, it has important theoretical and practical significance to analysis the changes in the value orientation of teachers and the existed problems, to study the influencing factors between value orientation of teachers and teaching effect, furthermore, to raise an effective way to evade these influencing factors.In this paper, the middle school geography teacher’s value orientation is divided into three kinds of cognitive, social, and personal as well as the corresponding nine small classes. The research was based on this with more than 200 articles from "geography teaching reference" magazine and questionnaires from Tianjin, Hunan, Chongqing and Guangdong provinces. Studies have shown that:(1) the degree of concern about middle school geography teaching value orientation overall increase. Among them, the quality has improved cognitive value orientation, social values of education for international understanding values and environmental ethics value orientation have been weakened; overall low individual value orientation, value orientation relative lack of life education; (2) the value orientation affect the efficiency is not high, always 50% -60%, the value orientation of teachers and students values interoperability, efficiency was positively correlated with the impact; (3) Effects of teachers’ value orientation efficiency factor is closely related to student gender, urban and rural areas differences, and associated small with classroom atmosphere and age.Moreover, this paper chose the difference between urban and rural areas as an example, made full use of rural middle school students’ characteristics based on the thinking philosophy consistent with the Chinese traditional culture, and had designed a set of teaching case which can hedge the urban and rural differences influence.
