The junior middle school students find it hard to learn geography when they enter the high school.Meanwhile the geography teachers in junior and senior schools are all faced with great stress and challenges.The students have many problems even at the beginning of their geography learning,such as failing to understand what the teacher have said,being unable to analyze the graphs and so on.With the high school education becoming more complex,the questions are getting more serious, and also there are various reasons causing the problem. I have been teaching in high school for seven years,and choose this topic to do research based on what i have experienced all over these years.After searching many materials and reading a lot of reference books, I firstly put my own teaching experience into the thesis and introduce the background and significance of the thesis, then analyze the present situation of the research on the connection between the domestic and foreign academic circles on the convergence of geography teaching in junior high school and senior high school, and put forward my own research ideas and methods. In order to find the problems and propose solutions to the problems, I take the primary and middle school students in different towns of Hanzhong city as the key research object, and select some schools to distribute the questionnaire and make a brief analysis on the basis of the research, and find out the root cause of the research on the convergence of geography teaching in junior high schools. Meanwhile,I focus on the geography curriculum standards in the junior and senior school,introduce the junior and senior school geography teaching content,subject characteristics, teaching methods and the process of high school geography course assessment methods from many aspects,and put forward the concrete method of its convergence after making the detailed comparison between them. Finally,according to my own teaching practice and investigation and from the geography curriculum standard and unified course standard,I briefly state that individual teachers and school education department should make great efforts and support the high school geography teaching.And still i explore the convergence of high school geography teaching in the background of the new curriculum reform,through the study of the students’ psychological development, eliminating the knowledge span barriers to develop theschool-based curriculum based on the teaching materials. Through the research of this paper, I find out the problems that affect the convergence of geography teaching in junior and high school, and conclude the best ways to solve the problems by investigating and analyzing the problem. which enables the students to put more efforts and energy on their junior geography learning and accumulate certain knowledge and techniques,thus making it easier for them to have more time to improve the efficiency of their high school study,overcome the difficulties and prepare for the final exams.Finally, this result may free the teachers from the arduous task of teaching,making it possible for them to have more time to communicate with the students,study their teaching methods,and improve their education level, so as to achieve the ultimate goal of basic education.
