In recent years, the cultivation of high school students has been concerning the public with the struggle of the advocacy and promotion of the quality-oriented education. The deficiency of emotion owing to the students’ only focus on the college entrance examination has received considerable criticism from the public while the music appreciation course aimed at fostering their aesthetic development has drawn more attention. It is necessary to enhance the music appreciation lessons during the process of education. I hope the investigation and study of the present situation in some local schools, as well as the ponderation and reflection followed, could be conducive to the reform and development of the music appreciation course.I am in contact with the music teachers in six high schools in Bazhong City, and I can understand the problems of the local high school music appreciation class.Through the communication with them, I have benefited a lot from it, and put forward some suggestions for the problems that exist in the course of the local music appreciation course.This thesis is divided into three parts:In the first part, the author expounds the teaching situation of high school music appreciation course in China through the aspects of music appreciation teaching, aesthetic education, diversified teaching mode of high school music appreciation, teaching method of high school music appreciation teaching.In the second part, the author analyzes the current situation of the six ordinary high schools in Bazhong City, the establishment of music teachers, the use of teaching materials, the hardware facilities and the problems in teaching.In the third part, the author puts forward some suggestions on the improvement of the local teaching situation.The choice of this thesis will be a good example for the reform of the music appreciation course of high school in Bazhong, especially for the music education of the six high schools in Bazhong. At the same time, the author’s viewpoint can also be the high school music appreciation course of his work unit to effectively guide the development direction.
