The topic of this paper is to study the current situation of performance appraisal of teachers. And the carrier of the research object is the colleges with the functions of higher vocational education, which bears the task to culture good technical and practiced talent with professional quality to meet the urgent need for company. The reason focused on the current performance of this group’s teachers is that the team of teachers is the foundation to achieve our goal of culturing talent of higher vocational education, which is extremely important to fully adequately mobilize their enthusiasm. Therefore, It’s very urgent to build up a perfect performance appraisal system.The research work in this paper mainly study in the angle of performance appraisal theory, and study the current situation of performance appraisal in Inner Mongolia Business and Trade Vocational College, which involves designing the performance evaluation index system, determination of performance evaluation methods, the description of implementation of performance appraisal and the application of performance evaluation results. First, it specifically analysis the concept and composition requirements of performance appraisal, common method of performance appraisal, the component of performance appraisal index system; secondly, taking teacher performance appraisal in Inner Mongolia Business and Trade Vocational College as an example, it analyzes the procedure, method, index system and existing problems of performance appraisal, and conclude the problems and related causes of the performance appraisal; Third, based on current situation analysis of basic research, we propose more responsive performance appraisal program in Inner Mongolia Business and Trade Vocational College, detailedly descript the design ideas of this program and the content of performance appraisal design, and innovative design the content of performance appraisal which includes competency, the process stage, and work achievement respectively, further study the design of performance appraisal bidding system, selection of assessment methods and implementation and assessment and application of the assessment achievement; Fourth, we strengthen propose the implementation of performance appraisal program for teachers in Inner Mongolia Business and Trade Vocational College, exam training, improvement of network system, recommendations of improving the performance appraisal system; and finally, we summarized the study of this paper and make a expectation of future research.In a word, the teacher’s performance appraisal is the key work of Higher Colleges Management. This paper introduces mature human resource management theory, analysis the current situation of performance appraisal for teachers in the higher vocational colleges, and propose a new performance appraisal program combined with research on the present situation of performance appraisal by taking the performance appraisal for teachers in Inner Mongolia Business and Trade Vocational College as an example. we hope this study can provide reference for teacher performance appraisals of other colleges and universities.
